The Jury, appointed by Prof. Piotr Gli\u0144ski, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Culture and National Heritage, issued the following statement:<\/p>\n<p><em>Jury:<\/em>\u00a0<em>Mateusz Adamkowski, Jerzy Bogus\u0142awski, David Crowley (absent), Marta Karpi\u0144ska, Aleksandra K\u0119dziorek, Agnieszka Komar-Morawska, Ma\u0142gorzata Kuciewicz, Natalia Paszkowska, Andrzej Piotrowski, Boles\u0142aw Stelmach, Andrzej Szczerski, Gabriela \u015awitek, Piotr Walkowiak, Tomasz Wendland, Hanna Wr\u00f3blewska.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>After a lengthy discussion, the Jury selected the project by the curatorial collective <strong>PROLOG +1 (Mirabela Jurczenko, Bartosz Kowal, Wojciech Mazan, Bart\u0142omiej Poteralski, Rafa\u0142 \u015aliwa, Robert Witczak), entitled <em>What Is Familiar Is Not Necessarily Understood: A Countryside, Forms of Dwelling and Production.<\/em><\/strong> The jury emphasised the project\u2019s exploration of the potential of rural areas and the challenges stemming from the organisation of postsocialist Eastern European villages, including the repercussions of forced collectivisation. The project contributes to the broader discourse on the urbanisation of rural areas by introducing a perspective from a country where rural areas constitute 93% of the territory. Furthermore, it asks about the future, communal nature of life and work in the countryside.
