The exhibitions we present for the Art Biennale in Venice are usually only shown to Polish audiences at Zachęta a year later. This time, however, the Open Group film Repeat after Me (2024) will be on show as early as next week as part of the special Art at Open’er programme! This means the important voices of refugees from Ukraine will be heard in Gdynia as well.
This is an extraordinary chance to see a work that will ensure you never forget the war still underway. All the film’s protagonists are civilians with war refugee experience, who speak of the war through the sounds of weapons they remember, and then invite audiences to repeat them in the form of karaoke.
