Culture Minister’s decision on next year’s Venice Biennale

The Minister of Culture Decides to Launch the Back-Up Project for Next Year’s Biennale Arte in Venice

Minister of Culture and National Heritage Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz, presently serving as commissioner of the Polish Pavilion, has re-examined the competition procedures for exhibition projects at the 60th International Art Exhibition in Venice for 2024, and, having consulted various opinions and heard out the art community, has resolved not to carry out Polish Practice in Tragedy. Between Germany and Russia, by curators Piotr Bernatowicz and Dariusz Karłowicz, featuring the work of Ignacy Czwartos.

As per the regulations, he has given the go-ahead to the back-up exhibition project, Repeat after Me, submitted by curator Marta Czyż and featuring Open Group (Yuriy Biley, Pavlo Kovach, Anton Varga).

Zachęta — National Gallery of Art will remain responsible for organizing and producing the exhibition, as well as fully overseeing the Polish Pavilion in Venice.
