We are commencing works on the Archive of the Polish Pavilion in Venice
Poland has been participating in the Venice Art Biennale with an exhibition in a separate space since 1914. In 1932 the construction of the pavilion on St. Elena Island, which was financed by the Polish government, was completed. Since 1991 we have also had representation at the Architecture Biennale. Documentation of most of the exhibitions at the Venice Biennale is in the archives of the Zachęta – National Art Gallery. This year we launched a project to expand the archive with additional materials and make them available. Our aim is to develop a comprehensive study of the history of Polish and Polish participation in the Venice Biennale of Art and Architecture. The project was co-financed by the European Union’s NextGenerationEU fund within the framework of the National Plan for Reconstruction, Investment A2.5.1: Program to support the activities of cultural and creative industries entities to stimulate their development.
Materials developed as part of the project can be found under the History tab.
